Nothing illegal found after police raid short time hotels in Pattaya

Police in Pattaya on Friday inspected several small hotels, motels and short time rooms in a bid to crackdown on illegal and immoral acts on Valentine’s Day.

 

Thaivisa readers will be relieved to learn that nothing untoward, nor any acts of immorality and certainly nothing illegal was found by officers during the inspection.

 

The inspection was carried out as part of a nationwide crackdown by police on Valentine’s Day.

 

An annual occurrence and as synonymous with Valentine’s Day in Thailand as red roses, police throughout the country visit motels and short time rooms on 14 Feb to make sure the owners of such places have not rented room to teenagers under the age of 20 or that no other form of sexual crimes are taking place. 

 

Critics say the annual inspections are nothing more than a moral crusade and PR exercise that do little in the way of cracking down on underage sex or educating teenagers on the importance of practicing safe sex. 

 

Police warned of serious punishment for any hotel owners who rent rooms to underage couples.

I strongly suspect more than one in the rooms raided with their mia noi would have full on crapped themselves when the cops burst in mind.

While the rest of the year the morality and legality is overwhelming..

this is my biggest fear being caught up in one of these raids and a photo of me in my underwear sitting on a bed in a short time room with three girls pointing at me being put on Thai Visa and everyone would know it was me because I am so handsome.

I usually take them to these hotels.  No dirty towels, hair, wanting to stay and watch TV at my room, etc.

Yes, glad I was not caught in one during these raids.

My peach pit butt would not look good.

You have to feel for the RTP, keeping the population in line with their own high moral standards!

They need somewhere for the highly publicised 'lap nai'. Instead of crashing into a vehicle, they can crash out on the bed. Seems obvious.

If it's anything like the raids on bars for drugs or illegal workers, the local police will have tipped off their favourite "clients" in advance

.........but officers reported finding several teenagers over the age of 20 acting suspiciously.

The hypocrisy in Thailand is astounding. No sex on Valentine’s Day, and the he country is in self destruct mode ???? I thought the were building these motels at PTT stations?

Bars are checked regularly.  This was a check on short-time hotels.

Sadly, they just do not realize how silly they look and how useless the task is anyways.  Perhaps if they enforced traffic laws, they might save a life.
