Saint Paul Foundation Phitsanulok with the collaboration of Teach in the East invites applications for English teaching job. We are seeking native English speaking teachers (America, England, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand) with a demonstrated record of exemplary teaching and an international reputation for excellence with proven communication and grammar skills. These positions are strictly for native English speaking teachers.

Most of the positions, indeed, are teaching English to learners of English as a Foreign Language (EFL) in Thailand. There may be some opportunity to teach additional subjects, such as Mathematics, Sciences (Chemistry, General Science, Physics), Social Science, Humanities etc. Positions will be in both private and public schools at mostly High School age. We will place you based on your background and availability. Depending on where you teach, your workload will be between approximately 20 - 25 contact teaching hours. Class size ranges from 20 to 40. Some schools will provide you the necessary materials for teaching like bond paper, white board marker, folders and even books which most of the schools do not have anything to give.

Likewise, you may or may not be teaching in an air-condition room equipped with breakthroughs of technology: projector, computer with internet connection, microphone, nice shiny tables and chairs. Thus, for your visual aids in the class, you don’t need to draw for anything, just search it in the websites and show to the students through the projector.

Thailand, with its rich culture and traditions, incredible sense of history, beautiful beaches, tropical interior and national parks offers more than enough to satisfy the soul of everyone. From temple-hopping to bar-hopping, experiencing the cosmopolitan lifestyle of Bangkok, the hustle and bustle of busy markets, tasting the rich array of food and spices or just relaxing there is a great deal to see and do in Thailand.

The above post is available commencing May 2007 for a fixed period of one year and renewable base on performance

The successful candidate must:

. possess at least bachelor degree in any field

. possess good criminal record from his country of origin as we are now very strict to check teacher’s criminal background as per memorandum of Ministry of Education

.possess good organisational skills as well as good oral and written communication abilities, including familiarity with Microsoft windows

. possess excellent academic qualifications in their field

. possess excellent teaching skills and be able to demonstrate these in an appropriate choice of delivery techniques and assessment methods

. have prior teaching experience at high school level

. possess a range of generic skills to support and enhance teaching and research activity - including use of audio-visual and IT resources

. possess excellent interpersonal skills

. be an effective team worker

. be versatile, enterprising and creative .
