Dash cam footage from a car in Krabi in southern Thailand showed the surprise moment when hundreds of sacks of cement and the pallets they were resting on flew off a truck trailer at a bend in the road and caused the car to brake suddenly and get covered in debris.

The truck driver was fined just 400 baht.

Ratha was driving her Honda CRV along the Pela - Thapsai road on Sunday evening. It was lucky there were no injuries, reported 77kaoded.

It took the local authority 3 hours to clear up the mess.

Capt Sayam Sorn-in of the local police said that the trailer was going from Thing Song in Nakhon Sri Thammarat to make a delivery of 500 sacks of cement in Phuket. The driver claimed an old man was crossing the road and caused him to veer and brake sharply.

The two parties got together at the police station and everything was settled by the company's insurance.

Police fined the trucker 400 baht for negligence.

Watching the video shows no evidence of an old man crossing road immediately before the 'accident'. What it does show is the lorry driver coming round the bend at a hell of a speed.

Was the fine of '400 Baht fine for negligence' for failure to hit the old man crossing the road? It couldn't be for negligence to secure the goods on the lorry surely.

400 baht was the brokering the deal fee the police charge.

The Honda was defiantly at fault, if the driver was not sleeping, he could have used his reverse gear, and backed out of the trouble! or just used his wipers, and kept going, not wasting peoples time. In the video, you could see the ghost of an old man walking across the road.
