Bangkok to Savanakhet visa through Mukdahan easiest way, with Nok air ?

Recommended Posts

hello,

To go to Mukdahan by flyandride(bus) Nok air flies to Sakhon Nakhon.

https://www.google.com/search?q=Sakon+Nakhon+to+Mukdahan

Is Nokair the only airline offering Fly and Ride to go to Mukdahan now ?

Or is there any other airport bus to go from Nakhon Panom to Mukdahan

https://www.google.com/search?q=nakhon+phanom+to+Mukdahan

or Ubon Ratchatani to Mukdahan ?

https://www.google.com/search?q=ubon+ratchathani+to+Mukdahan

Thank you.

Fly to Khon Kaen, airport bus to the RR bus station, van from KK ring road bus station to Mukdahan bus station, border bus to Suvannakhet.

Although I just fly to HCMC for my VISAs these days, same rules but direct flights.

non O multiple entries in Vietnam ? as easy as Savanakhet ?

thank you.

No queues at all, in and out in 5 minutes, apply in the morning, collect the next afternoon..

You don't need your original marriage certificate, they do want a handwritten letter from your wife in Thai, asking them to give you a VISA. $200 for multi-entry O.

Nok air flies via Sakon Nakhon, Nakhon Phanom, and Ubon. When you search for a flight DMK to Mukdahan all the flights are shown. To find out which airport is used you have to click on the symbol for a bus.

Air Asia does them via Nakhon Phanom.

The fly-ride service (from Nok Air or Air Asia) is definitely best for the return from Mukdahan to Bangkok. For the outbound, you might decide to take a VIP overnight bus (yes, I am not keen on these either) only because it arrives in Mukdahan around 7:00 am which works perfectly for doing the visa application the same day. Going to Mukdahan using the fly-ride service means an extra night in either Mukdahan or Savannakhet.

no more it seems.

nokair only flies via sakhon nakhon and there is only 1 flight a day at 6am. Anyway it's the only flight that gives a chance to arrive to consulate the same day before it closes (but not sure 100%, anybody did it on time ?)

air asia does not offer fly and ride to mukdahan later than march 28th.

Thank you, so it's the only place with Savanakhet where we can get a multi O easily ?

On the home page of Nok Air do this flight search. https://www.nokair.com/

Then you get all the flights for that day. The first one is this.

image.png.d07f4e73e7037b156e845f3de35cb02c.png

Click the bus and it shows this.

None of the 6 flights shown arrive early enough to go to the consulate to apply on the same day.

But some do arrive early enough to cross the bridge by 6pm when the Lao visa on arrival office closes. Otherwise you have to stay overnight and get the early bus to Savannakhet the next morning.

I wonder if that means the fares are not available now.

When I click on the 29th  it still shows the flight schedules but no fares.

Ok, you are right !

I searched for April and it seems that both websites do not allow complete booking after March 28th.

Nothing on Airasia and nokair only has 1 flight in the morning, but great time. Not sure if it means that it will really be the only fly and ride to mukdahan from march 29 th ?

Nokair fly and ride from 29 march 2020 is to Sakhon Nakhon, but prior to this date flights are mostly to Ubon Ratchatani, with 1 or 2 flights a day to Sakhon. No more flights to Nakhon Panom for fly and ride it seems, so Sakhon nakhon is a better choice than ubon.

Time for a little bit of airline explanation:

On the night 28->29/3 worlwide the clocks change, winter to summertime, and thats also 1 of 2 dates (guess the other?) when airlines reset their general schedules. Here in ASEAN its not much of a thing, but the majority of airlines fly in USA and EU and there it is. Those connecting buses/vans will the very last thing be for airls. to put in systems.

Conveniently 29 is thus a SUNday (wan athit) and very often timings on SU differ from WEEKdays.

Also many a farang seems to have eternal fears about flites/trains ´sold out´ when in practice its not even possible to book.

But around from 1 week later on the Songkran exodus will start to fill spare seats.

BTW-the busride KKn-Mukd is at least some 4-5 hrs. From Ubon less and plenty of bus and van on the normal from in town lines.

That's a shame.

Last year I booked the Nok fly/ride which departed Bkk at 0610, got to Sakon Nakhon at 0720

and the coach arrived at Mukdahan at 0830.

Lodged that day and picked it up and departed the next day.

Might give HCMC a try next then.

Every consulate/embassy has a website in english. If you're going to Savannakhet you need to check what time you can apply for the visa and what time to pick it up next day. All info you need is on their website.

Well a lot of the US changes on 8 March. Australia/NZ (mostly) changes 5 April. In any case we're talking Thai Airasia and Nokair. Hardly intercontinental, whatever time it is............

Wondering if Laos or Vietnam border will be open first for a NON-O multi...

My guess (!) would be Laos, but it's too early to speculate when and what strings will be attached. For example, you might not be able to return to Thailand, or you might be subjected to quarantine in Laos, Thailand or both.

Good points. Many folk are overlooking what will be the requirements for re-enter Thailand. Also in the frame is what will be required from the countries you exit to.

Bit unrelated but in last 2 days 800 (au citizens) have returned from India to AU. All now in lockdown for next 14 day in designated hotel. With state police and hotel security to make sure no breach.

Also your guess re Laos over Vietnam is a given. Vietnamese government acted quickly and imo will be last ASEAN country to open up.

This will be slower than some think.
