April 6, 200719 yr I use 12Call pre-paid card, but lately I could not find the 500 THB card, they (7-11) only had the 300 THB. Has the 500THB been removed from their offering or was just unlucky?
April 6, 200719 yr I hadn't noticed, up here in Chiang Mai. Have you tried other 7-11's, or the phone shops in the malls and shopping centers? You could get several 300's. On similar note: is there any limit to what the SIM card will hold? I've had balances close to 2000 baht.
April 6, 200719 yr I sometimes have had to look in a few places for the 5ooBht card, but have realized that it's just as easy to buy two 300 Bht cards at my first stop instead. My 1-2-Call SIM will not hold more than 5,000 Bht credit.
April 6, 200719 yr They're not popular because very few Thais will buy a 500 baht card. Correct, and the vendor doesn't want to get stuck with these cards in the event no one buys them. Vendors make about the same on a 300 baht card as they do on a 500 baht card. You can stop by a Telewiz shop and top up any amount you wish. Pay, then they print out a receipt with the 13 digit PIN, and they enter this on your phone. You can also top-up any other 1-2-Call subscriber at a Telewiz shop, all you need is their phone number.

How on earth did you find that out? Did you actually buy more than 5000 baht worth of cards and for what purpose? loma: thanks very interesting info! Edited April 6, 200719 yr by nikster
April 6, 200719 yr Apparently, I can also top-up from an ATM ... will try that next time. Confirmed. I've done it in the past.
April 6, 200719 yr Found 500bht cards in 711, normally 100, 200, 300, and 500 both in BKK and Patters. Edited April 6, 200719 yr by britmaveric
