BANGKOK (Reuters) - Thailand has reported one new coronavirus case, bringing the total number of such cases in the country to 43 since January, a senior health official said on Monday.

Public Health Minister confirms no call for enforcement of security law

Tourism Ministry to help tourists, tour operators affected by COVID-19

A 22-year-old Thai woman became the 43rd confirmed case of Covid-19 in Thailand, Health Ministry permanent secretary Dr Sukhum Karnchanapimai said on Monday (March 2). The woman was in close contact with a male driver (the 37th victim) for a Chinese tourist, who had already recovered and been discharged.

30,000 tour guides lose jobs as tourist numbers dive

At least 30,000 tour guides nationwide have lost their jobs after the number of tourists nosedived by 80-90 per cent amid concern over the Covid-19 coronavirus, Tourism Council of Thailand president Jarupol Rueangket said after a 2020 Annual General Meeting. The effects of the Covid-19 outbreak will further slow down tourism in the country, he warned.

Covid-19 now under Universal Health Coverage: Anutin

Opposition to launch extra-parliamentary censure debate against Government
