Pheu Thai MP says ruling party's move to let students participate in Parliament too late

Pheu Thai MP Chavalit Vichayasuthi said that a proposal by the ruling Phalang Pracharat Party to allow students participate in Parliament was too late to resolve the conflict.

 

He said on Monday that Prime Minister General Prayut Chan-o-cha has governed Thailand for six years and failed on economy, society and foreign affairs resulting in resentment among the young generation.

 

He added that even in the eyes of the world, Prayut had lost credibility a long time ago as he did not follow up on promises to global leaders who had urged him to organise an election after he had seized power in a coup.

 

Prayut did not heed the desire of the Thai people to end corruption and sow the seeds of reconciliation. He even so shaped national regulations that they support his loyalists to maintain his power.

 

“The last straw was the dictatorship in disguise of democracy,” Chavalit said. “The only solution is the resignation of Gen Prayut Chan-o-cha.”

The job situation in Thailand is not good, and that was long before virus.   cha cha will fall to the young of Thailand eventually, as they see they have little in the way of a bright future.   Somkid tells them to learn more skills in something useful, but rarely says what that is.   

 

cha cha is just a rash that will not go away.

Or another election, right now Cha Cha cannot boast too much about what is going right in Thailand.

Letting students participate in parliament is unusually shrewd.  Gather up the leaders of the movement.  Divide them up in variously useless committees and task forces that will suck out their energy and attention.  Then alternately threaten and promise to enrich them.  It’s likely too late for this as the leaders now have a stronger hand than had this been done two weeks ago.  That does not mean that it’s not a cleverly disguised strategy to gut the movement.

We just had an election!Or do you mean a real one where people's votes are counted.It's a lot more than an election that's needed.A complete overhaul of the judiciary and electoral court system is also needed.The military also need to be removed from any participation in the political system and completely new Constitution needs to be written,and a myriad of other changes as well.
