Biden like Clinton and Kerry been in office since forever with nothing to show for it. They are entirely self serving. It's them and the machine. Biden will lose because he's old, hollow and deceitful. Sander's might not win, doubtful on that mark but he's relatively genuine. The rest of the pack are just asvself serving as Biden - or Trump. Buttigeg is false candidate, most disingenuous. He should be running for governor. Especially as he's so young. He could run for President in eight years or more. The only one with any passion and vision in Dem party is grandpa Sander's. Trump will win again and half America will lose their minds again and blame the other half of the country for exercising their democratic rights and self interest. Dems are collective of toxic special interest that don't even have appeal amongst themselves. It's nothing more than a coilition of self indulgent and entitled people. Democratic party is California and NE US.  Then they complain because Trump lost popular vote by a few 100k

Bernie Sanders has been in the House or Senate since 1991, with little to show for it.

First, stop pretending the DNC is a public charity obligated to support all candidates who claims to be a Democrat equally.  The DNC is a political organization that works to elect candidates that support the DNC's political policies, with extra support for Democrat candidates who can help get other Democrats elected.

Regardless, the DNC lost the last election by promoting someone unacceptable outside the coasts. Obama won because he was charismatic. Biden is just HRC version 2 and he's not charismatic. IMO if Biden or Warren are the pick it's Trump till 2025. Bernie, IMO would have won last time.

However, keep beating the Biden drum by all means. The debates will be even more "interesting" than the last time.

Frankly, it astounds me that the Dems can't come up with anyone better than two old men that have been in politics so long with little to show for it. Did charisma leave the room when Obama left office?

Agreed, but he's been able to attract voters. The others I've mentioned they owe their lives to the machine.

None of the other Dems have half the passion. Right or wrong I think Sanders wants a fix. The rest just hackneyed pols looking to be President.

You want passion, I want competence; someone who has shown he can get things done.  Bernie fails that test.

While the Republicans rally behind an old egomaniac conman.

What a shock, the Democrats want a candidate who is a Democrat.  Bernie is an opportunistic independent who thought declaring himself a Democrat made him entitled to full support from the DNC.

Well, it worked for Bloomberg didn't it?  Anyhow, I've got no real dog in this fight. Let's see how things shake out. Bernie's definitely got all the early voters and Biden is getting a huge late surge here as everybody's lining up incredibly quickly to hitch themselves to his wagon. I've no doubt Joe can govern, but can he campaign?

Bernie either is nominated or will cost the dems the election. Hopefully Bernie will fight the good fight and stay in as an independent if not nominated. I don't think it will matter a good chunk of disenfranchised Bernies won't show up or simply write him in.

The key metric tonight is if Bloomberg flops as bad as I think he might. Let's see if he can get 15% anywhere other than Oklahoma.

Some Democrats vote in the Democratic primaries.  Republicans and independents don't, and a lot of undecided Democrats don't.  They vote in the national elections, and are more likely to vote for a centrist Democrat than a far left Democrat.

The voters who have decided just recently is the REAL story now.

Where is any detail on why you claim dems lose unless it is Sanders, prey tell?. Cult 45 want Sanders but surely trump is very concerned with the Biden coalescing.  What is FOX saying?

PA is the key to who wins the Presidency. Biden has been a professor in PA.

PA is hugely invested in fracking, oil and gas. Nobody that even mentions stopping that will win there. Ohio is the same. I live right between the two states. You can't go more than a mile with out seeing some sign of that industry. Unless Biden's position is to leave it alone he won't win.

The entire Ohio river valley is dependent upon it.

The DNC isn't exactly rushing to embrace Bloomberg either.

I find it puzzling that some people can't understand why the DNC favors reliable Democrats over people who change parties whenever it is convenient.

Unfortunately you may be correct; Bernie stands a good chance of giving the Republicans the Presidency and both the House and the Senate.

If that were true, then why would they allow him to run under their banner? Just to bleed off young and disenchanted voters?

As much as we have differed over opinions in the past, I could live with somebody like Biden and wouldn't be bothered. I just got home from living in Laos for a decade and am not in the mood for socialist revolution. I really hope that Biden can pull this off.

If his plans don't threaten livelihoods in PA etc. He has a very good chance. The natural gas coming from fracking has helped a lot and made America much more carbon neutral than it has ever been.

I would like to hear how the transition happens from here because I don't like the Ohio Valley to be littered with factories, smokestacks and cracker plants. There is a lot of nuclear energy concentrated here and I don't know what to think about that.

I think it is necessary as a step to transition into better energy tech that hasn't been invented yet. Thats why we use nuclear and frack.

I think we should look at only using locations we already do it in and would support no new drilling as oil has been in free fall anyway. We shouldn't at this point increase the global supply. Let the Saudis and everybody else dig it up and only use it here if it is worth the time.

However natural gas is much more important to provide jobs at injection plants and manufacture. It's fairly clean.

Ok, so it seems we are largely in agreement on energy.

Even in the unlikely event that Sanders wins, he will not pull of a socialist revolution.  His entire political career has demonstrated that he can't make the compromises and alliances necessary to get legislation passed.

Exactly.

Bernie's promises are as fantastical as 45s Mexico is gonna pay for it wall.

Just to whip up a populist base.

Not real.

No of course I am certainly not saying that Bernie is equivalently bad as 45.

However they do share some unfortunate similarities.

Who are you supporting at this point?

At this point I support Joe Biden, though I didn't want him to run and I have reservations about his age.  However I'm firmly in the "any responsible adult who can beat Trump" camp.

I'm no Bernie fan either but surely you jest. We've been through 8 years of W and 4 years of Trump. Surely Sanders is as competent as this lot.

I agree that Sanders will do far less harm than Bush Jr or Trump.  Bush and Trump did great damage to the country, Sanders will not be able to accomplish anything.
