rooster59
Shoppers stay away from major Nakhon Si Thammarat flea market By The Nation The biggest flea market in Thung Yai district in Nakhon Si Thammarat province has suddenly been abandoned by customers after Thasala Hospital announced the first Covid-19 patient in the province. Recently, Kitti Rattanasombat, director of Thasala Hospital, announced the first Covid-19 case in the province on Friday (March 6), causing uncertainty among people following the virus outbreak. At 5pm on Friday at the Kwan Nara flea market, a male coconut water merchant who has been selling at this market for over 10 years said Saturday had seen the fewest customers in a decade. “Normally, about 10,000 customers come for shopping, especially on a Friday evening,” he said. “Also, people park their cars along the road because this market is the biggest flea market in Thung Yai district.” He added that people did not dare to go shopping because they were afraid of Covid-19 infection, resulting in merchants being unable to sell their goods. “All merchants said in one voice that this market was quiet all day like an abandoned market,” he added. “We still don’t know when the situation of this dangerous disease will end.” Source: https://www.nationthailand.com/news/30383581 -- © Copyright The Nation Thailand 2020-03-08 Follow Thaivisa on LINE for breaking Thailand news and visa info
