Because the number of total infected is used to determine the number that are likely to be infected that are still untested and also how many are likely to require hospitalization and mortality rate.

Not in this thread, it hasn't. Just facts and reality about Americans getting sick and dying, and the federal government being late to the game in trying to do anything about it.

 

The U.S. outbreak is just getting started now in its early stages. And already, we have many hospitals that don't have enough CV test kits to test their patients (because the feds for some unexplained reason in the early going refused to use the available WHO test that other countries around the world have been using). Doctors and nurses are running short of face masks and other gear. Citizens are panic buying and store shelves are being emptied. A public vaccine probably is at least a year away. And Trump continues blathering like he has the remotest clue of what he's talking about.
