Two Thais were arrested for selling face masks at an inflated price of Bt15 a piece to foreign buyers via We Chat, Immigration Police announced today (March 12).

5,000 face masks in five boxes were seized when the two delivered an order to officers disguised as buyers.

Both suspects , Chai and Nat, are able to communicate in Chinese and used WeChat to draw foreign clients. Nat was also found to have transferred money to a Bangladeshi businessman.

Moreover, police learned that the two had Bt2 million in their accounts in a period of seven days.

Police has now located sources of the face masks and will conduct a search.
