Dear all, my HR have yet to cancel my work permit and I am due to leave on Monday 16th to relocate to another country.

Will I encounter any issues? Do I need to apply re-entry? I read I might be refused exit without.

Thanks

Immigration on departure from the country will not know that your work permit was not canceled.

Immigration has nothing to do work permits since they are issued by the Department of Employment.

according to my school they will be fined 20,000 baht by labour if that work permit is not cancelled apparently it can also affect your chances of getting another job if its not cancelled, they collected mine two weeks ago but my visa runs out 30th april, as the paperwork later is leaving, but as ubon says few countries manage to link systems together successfully

You're talking about a fine from The Department of Employment, Ubonjoe is talking about immigration. Why would those two departments be linked together? And even if they were, people are allowed to leave the country even when working here.
