The week that was in Thailand news: Waiting, waiting on virus news.....many countries including Thailand are holding their breath!

For the last four years, writing this column has been a weekly ritual invariably accomplished on a Thursday or a Friday by which time most of the news is usually in. If anything dramatic happens thereafter I might add a comment or two to update the reader.

Man suffers broken leg as car rams street vendor’s motorbike

PHUKET: A 28-year-old Thai man suffered broken leg after a Toyota saloon car ploughed into parked vehicles and hit a motorcycle of a street vendor he was buying drinks from. The accident happened on Soi Phisai Sapphakit in Phuket Town last Wednesday (Mar 11).

Phuket Town school fire causes B500k in damage

PHUKET: No people were injured in a fire that broke out at Piboonsawasdee Municipal School in Phuket Town today (Mar 14), police have confirmed. Yet the blaze caused an estimated B500,000 in damage.

Thai rice exports get a boost from global Covid-19 scare

Govt in bid to stop short sales of shares, create support fund to boost Thai bourse
