My situation as follows:

Spent most of last year on METV's. Been in Thailand this year on a visa exempt entry since January, extended 30 days, and my visa stamp expires later this week. Needless to say I'd rather not travel anywhere with all the insanity going on with the world currently, but I don't really have a choice.

My original plan was to go to Philippines for a couple of weeks, but given that they essentially shut down the entire country that plan is out the window. My plan B is to go to Cambodia (PNH) for a few days then try my luck with another visa exempt entry. At least so far with my passport (Israel) there are no travel restrictions to Thailand, but are there any restrictions in Cambodia?

Any other suggestions for "safe" countries to do a visa run in? By safe I mean in terms of the potential for entrance restrictions.

I realize the rules are changing daily, but as of right now....

Did you look into Laos ? I think Israelis used to get visa exempt entry but that kinda stuff changes all the time but google is your friend.

If you chose Cambodia, you could drive (rent if needed) up to PoiPet instead of flying to PNH and park on the Thai side and cross the border there.  Yes it's a s.hole but If I had to select between getting harassed by hustler at the PoiPet border - but who is otherwise healthy,  and random people coughing at me at the international airport or in the plane where there's no escape. I know what I'd pick.  I was there last year , wasn't any drama. Float around in the pool in an empty hotel while having brew for 2 days and then return and avoid the hustle n bustle of PNH that's my advise.

I just went down and tried to book a visa run for Cambodia from Pattaya and was told that they are closed and not available now.

I have seen no other information with regard to this so I'm unconvinced that is actually the case though that company does organise visa runs.

organise visa runs.

The organized visa runs got a terrible reputation. They cram as many farangs they can into a minivan and drive like they've just stole the van. No smiles and before leaving bkk you need to make loops around town picking up every man and his dog from their hotels which takes for aaaages.  I'd tell anyone reading this to organize your own visa run.

I wish thai immigration would come up with a solution for us on the forced METV / non-o multi 90 day runners ....

but they don't even care for their own thais

Who are really on "forced" METV's?

You are just a tourist after all.

"but they don't even care for their own thais"

What's that supposed to mean?

From BKK you don't need an organized trip to, for example Myanmar via Kanchanaburi if you need to do a border run. Bus 81 from the Southern Bus Terminal to Kanchanaburi, then you can chose a bus or van to the border.

The crossing to Cambodia crossings are open.

These are the only restriction in place for entering Cambodia.

"CAMBODIA – published 14.03.2020
Effective from 17.03.2020:
All passengers who in the past 14 days have been to, or are originating from France, Germany, Italy, Spain or USA are not allowed to enter or transit Cambodia. This restriction applies for 30 days.
- This does not apply to nationals of Cambodia or residents of Cambodia."

I got a call from my visa lady yesterday in Pattaya and she told me that due to the borders being closed for visa runs, if I bought her my passport she can get it stamped for me to stay and not leave the country.

immigration are making some allowance, apparently.

I have no further details, or if all agents can do it?
