Matthew Deane - the celebrity boxing presenter who has come down with coronavirus has described his symptoms in a video from his hospital bed.

The star - whose wife is also infected - said he is more concerned about others that were infected.

Many cases of the virus have been traced to a boxing event at Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok on March 6th where Matthew was in the ring.

In a clip to fans he said that at first he did not have any symptoms, then he developed a mild fever, muscle cramps and felt like he had an allergy.

He sought medical advice at a hospital and was admitted. He has been in hospital for seven days now.

After 3-4 days the fever subsided but his doctor warned that the fever could return.

It did. During the time that the fever subsided all the signs were good but when it came back it was decided that he would begin a course of drugs.

He said the drugs he was taking now are what everyone who has the virus are being prescribed. He has been told that taking drugs will ensure a speedier recovery.

He reported sleeplessness.

Commenting on pain he said that was difficult to assess as everyone has a different pain threshold.

As far as he was concerned he was fine - he was more concerned about the other people that had got infected.

He signed off urging the public to stay safe.

A bit late for that and many of his friends... who have subsequently gone on to spread it further still!

He doesn't look like he has underlying health problems.

You can get it without any. Those that do have underlying conditions are more likely to develop more severe symptoms. Some are totally asymptomatic.
