It's the iconic theme of Liverpool Football Club, and it's a motto we could all do with right now, regardless of whether you're Aston Villa, Birmingham City or West Bromwich Albion.

Radio stations across the continent are set to play You'll Never Walk Alone simultaneously on Friday (March 20) as the ongoing coronavirus pandemic continues.

The spread of COVID-19 has sparked the inspiring show of solidarity on European shores.

UK stations and their Dutch counterparts in the Netherlands will all play the Gerry and the Pacemakers track at 8.45am (CET), which is 7:45am here.

A woman from Hadleigh, Suffolk, UK wrote this which I think needs a wider audience:-

My Sanitized Things (to the tune of ‘My Favourite Things’)
Verse
Hospitals, health centres, large institutions,
Lock down for fear of the public’s ablutions.
And any surface to which Covid clings,
We are all missing our favourite things.

Pasta, and loo roll and hand sanitizer
Although why loo roll? I am none the wiser.
Hoarding food’s what some folks did in the war.
I’ve got a feeling we’ve been here before!

We still have neighbours but something is missing.
Elbow touch only; no hugging or kissing.
Handshakes are now just a thing of the past.
How long do you think this madness can last?

Chorus
Over 70?
Then you’re buggered.
Days are long and sad.
But then we remember our favourite things
And suddenly life ‘aint bad!

Verse
Now panic buying is sweeping the nation.
Business is bad with this self-isolation,
But it’s not over ‘til ‘that lady sings’,
Oh where the hell are my favourite things?

Buying in bulk seems to be current fashion,
Maximum 4 bars of soap is the ration.
Why didn’t they stop this greed long before?
Ration books seemed to work well in the war!

Chorus
No more parties,
No more football,
It will drive me mad!
But then I remember my favourite things
And life doesn’t seem so bad.

Verse
How long can we all be incarcerated?
Box sets can often be quite overrated.
TV repeats are the sole offerings.
Oh how I yearn for my favourite things.

Gossip with neighbours, the pub and the theatre.
Oh, stuff the new regime we must adhere ter(!)
Jumping in puddles and hubby who sings,
These are a few of my favourite things.

Chorus
Where’s the front door?
Must get out more.
Stop me feeling sad.
‘Cos this is the day that our dear Lord has made
And now I don’t feel so bad!
