Jonathan Fairfield Posted March 21, 2020 Share Posted March 21, 2020 Songkhla bars foreigners from use of border crossings Songkhla province has prohibited the arrival and departure of foreigners through the permanent crossings in the province, in order to prevent the spread of Covid-19. The order came into effect on Saturday (March 21) until the virus situation is resolved. However, the province will allow vehicles to transport goods across the border. The vehicles must be from Malaysia, and have only one driver. Besides, the driver must be checked for Covid-19 infection at the three-permanent crossings in Songkhla: Sadao, Padang Besar and Banprakob. Roy Baht Posted March 21, 2020 Share Posted March 21, 2020 More Songkhla news: The Songkhla governor's office now reports 13 cases of COVID-19 in Songkhla Province. Government employees are forbidden and citizens are discouraged from traveling abroad to countries with high infection rates of COVID-19. Within Songkhla Province, sport venues will be closed for 14 days (from 20 March - 2 April 2020) as well as fitness centers, theaters & cinemas, health & beauty establishments, massage shops, game & internet shops. Government agencies must abstain from or postpone any organized events or seminars consisting of 50 or more people. Companies in the private sector are encouraged to do the same. Workplaces are encouraged to offer separate meal times so that employees can have "social distance" of at least one meter between them.
