Boris Johnson's father is in the process of applying for a French passport to maintain his ties with Europe after Brexit.

Stanley Johnson, a former MEP who voted Remain in the referendum, has requested to become a French citizen as his mother Irene was born in Versailles.

The move was revealed by the prime minister's sister Rachel, an ardent Europhile, in her new book, Rake's Progress.

MP's to get some of their own medicine.

All bars in the houses of parliament to be closed immediately.

Traitor.....

Jeez and this is news. Scrapping the barrel with this story. Almost as bad as Nigel Farage's children having German passports.

Maybe it is because of the reason below.

"Stanley Johnson, a former MEP who voted Remain in the referendum, has requested to become a French citizen as his mother Irene was born in Versailles".

I guess everyone here does exactly what their father does/did and has the same political views and outlook in life.

If you are comparing as you are Boris is the PM top job, Stanley was just a mere MEP. Who is the more successful.

Or maybe, like his son, he is little more than a well-heeled conman willing to jump on any attractive, passing bandwagon.

Is that your opinion or any evidence for that.

Still I will stand by my comments that it is scrapping the barrel in journalism trying to discredit the PM because his father is applying for a French passport.

Gutter snipe media.

Well Johnson Snr wrote the article, not me. I initially presumed that he was telling the truth when he wrote it but I can understand your scepticism.

Good enough reason to disown a father in my book????

Many of us are dual citizens. Very useful too.

Hey Boris, it seems your dad doesn't believe in you ...

Ex European Commission, Ex world Bank, Ex Green activist Remain Activist and draws a very nice pension from the EU..Stanley was born Osman Ali Wilfred Kemal with an elite father but changed his identity for a more British sounding one for personal gain,  so did his grandparents who are German with Alleged Royal German blood so maybe Boris's father is the one with a less than straight forward and honest past,  A true Globalist is Stan the Ottoman.. Everyone worthwhile knows who butters Stanleys bread and its not the UK in any way. Au revoir Stan and dont rush back...

Pity he did not use a French Letter when he bonked his wife and created BJ.

Grandpa was from Milton. Think I can get one?

I dont understand this article. If Johnson Senior wants a passport of country X, and he qualifies, then let him have it his way. Nothing to do with his son, who happens to be Prime Minister.

In additon, Johnson Senior can keep his UK citizenship if he wishes to do so. A private affair which is definitely not newsworthy and as interesting as what brand of washing detergent he might use or not!

He obviously knows is son.

He's been found not guilty. As soon as this pandemic is over the investigations into Leader Sturgeon, her government and her party's involvement and actions in all of this will begin.

Get some popcorn - when you can!

Perhaps in your opinion but that is all it is, your opinion.

quote from the OP.

"Stanley Johnson, a former MEP who voted Remain in the referendum, has requested to become a French citizen as his mother Irene was born in Versailles. "

Boris' Dad was an MEP and voted to Remain, and wants to remain in the EU. His choice. Any other Brit can do the same if they wish, even you.

So his sister and father are Europhiles?

So what, you can't blame him for that. We all have embarrassing relatives. My Auntie nearly voted Labour under Corbyn once, is that my fault?

Traitor.....

Please tell us all why YOU consider him a traitor.

AFAIR Stanley Johnson has the freedom of choice to do as he wishes, as does anybody else should they wish to and if they qualify.

That doesn't make him a traitor. Here are 2 definitions of the word traitor. Does he fit in either explanations?

https://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/traitor

Definition of traitor
1: one who betrays another's trust or is false to an obligation or duty
2: one who commits treason

https://dictionary.cambridge.org/dictionary/english/traitor

traitor
noun [ C ]   disapproving
UK  /ˈtreɪ.tər/ US  /ˈtreɪ.t̬ɚ/

a person who is not loyal or stops being loyal to their own country, social class, beliefs, etc.:

Not a big story. Main problem now is EU negotiators all claiming corona infection in order to delay Brexit. Just go for WTO terms and be done with it.

Boris has been disowned by his Sister, Brother and Father... it is like tendering your resignation after you get sacked.

Not even is father trust his son, he understood the son is insane and shall detained in a mental institute !

What a sad person you are. A rabid Remainer that hates Brexit, Brexiteers and the PM. You have no idea of democracy, unlike even the Labour voters at the last election. IMHO what you want is democracy EU style.

BTW are you a qualified psychologist that can diagnose a patient without meeting them?

That is a clear expression IQ of an average brexiter, they can not stand a different opinion or worst that the father has reckon his son insanity and want out before the disaster as a tsunami will arrive.

Anyone who think different is a traitor and shall be jailed or sentenced to death ? wow...

Does he have enough points to be eligible?

We don't just want any riff-raff in the EU....

Weren't you championing Corbyn at the last election and very publicly rabble rousing in a constituency where the candidate was duly ousted?
