Samranrat Police Station has marked the reception area in its premises with anti-riot shields to reduce the risk of Covid-19 infections.

Pol Colonel Itthipol Pongthorn, superintendent of the station said on Monday (March 30) that aside from preventing the risk of infection, the arrangement also help keep a distance between police and people for mutual safety.

“Moreover, the police station has implemented Covid-19 preventive measures, such as limiting access to one entrance, scanning people’s temperature , asking them to wear face mask and wash their hands at sanitation point,” he said.

I never imagined the police would be involved in germ warfare.

Will they have to defend themselves using weed-killer?

A positive move.  More agencies should adopt similar measures.

The riot shields don't usually make an appearance until stage 2 of a pandemic.

It would be easier to send the policemen home, where they would be safe from Covid and the criminals ...

OMG, what a wonderful cover story, or is it a covid story?

scanning people’s temperature

It has been reported that one can be a carrier of the virus for 5-10 days before symptoms, such as high temperature, materialize.  So in my humble opinion scanning temperatures is a futile exercise.
