The Department of Land Transport (DLT) announced that Pattani, Yala, Narathiwat and Phuket are four southern provinces that have closed after witnessing an increasing number of Covid-19 patients.

Director-general Jirut Wisanjit said the closures have begun today (March 30) to prevent the coronavirus from spreading.

All modes of public transport are now cancelled and passengers must contact the agencies to get a refund.

The measure followed Phuket Governor Phakkhaphong Thawiphat's announcement on Sunday that all modes of transport except air would be halted until April 30 in order to prevent the spread of Covid-19.

Damned if govt react and damned if they don’t.

Should have done this before, but!, Huge fear of economic disasters so hope the bug won’t be as bad as reported and seen in other places.

Remember this virus is still mostly unknown in its behaviour, replication and has no vaccine pathway yet!

Medical responses are exploring and experimenting and simply ... don’t know ... other than to suggest shotgun-style actions to reduces risk.

Then fast forward to infections rates rise, new clusters arise, people begin to die, and reactions to cope are increased by govt’s.

Add to this people refusing to take advanced warnings to stay where they are, stay indoors or at least distance themselves, not travel etc,  mass exoduses across countries and national borders.

Huge outcry by people blaming and demanding their govts repatriate them or ignoring suggestions to stay put and then move across the globe by their own choices and or govt’s e.g. people on cruise ships with known infected people amongst them screaming to be sent home without any test available at that time to avoid migration of the bug and the bug gets spread.

Understandable that fear ruled/s but look at the massive numbers of people who have flaunted and ignored the suggested initial safe behaviours and thus infecting others.
