Jesus Christ...all of that for just a tourist visa extension?  Treating visitors like criminals on house arrest!

With stories like yours, it looks like Immigration is really on a dedicated mission to destroy tourism as well as long-stay in Thailand forever.

Bloody hell. What kind of visa?

Did you go to the main immigration office? Is the Bluport one closed?

Who told you to take all this? Immigration or the Embassy?

They've introduced a series of onerous requirements which nobody is really expected to be able to fulfill without lots of effort. That's the way they do things here when they want to discourage and obstruct anyone from going down this route.

They obviously don't want to issue any extensions or they would do so and make it easy to do.

My conclusion : They hate you and want you out and they don't care what happens or how you do it.

so this is your second extension on the tourist visa? they are obviously playing hardball with a lot of people, I read in another post they wanted pictures of the residence with the person stood outside it.

in these times they should be making things easier.

what a joke.

They actually should not. Look around - these days governments all over the world restrict, prohibit, close etc. Why should it be any different with the Immigration? They just follow the trend.
By the way, most of the Thais still think that foreigners are the main spreaders of the virus in Thailand. This is from my own experience.

Did they by any chance recommend an agency that can do it? Clearly trying to block any extensions unless you pay. 16,000 mentioned at Jomtien to a mate of mine. He only got 7 days.

Have a great day

Yes 17k mentioned to me for the 'special' visa at Jomtien (was already 3 days overstay waiting for embassy reply). Went with 7 days instead. If I get a 5 year ban, and/or thrown in IDC, so be it. Needless to say the backlash from a bunch of tourists dead in IDC would not be a good look.

Can you please make it clear...

You already did the first 30 day extension of a visa exempt, and want to get another 30 day extension?

Lots of countries have granted extensions to the foriegners that are stuck there. I.E. Indonesia , U.K to name a few. No need for all this nonsense paper work. And giving 7 days. The uk has given foreigners extensions until the end of may.

It would be wise of thailand to do the same.

Sorry, I'm still confused. Did you get a 30 day visa exempt from the Ranong visa run and now want to get your 'first' 30 day extension on that?

I did a visa run in March after spending 60 days here. My 30 day visa exempt is due to expire on Thursday. I would normally expect a 30 day extension to be straightforward from that.

Given the environment, I would of been on a flight 30/60 days ago if I was a tourist, but that's just me..
