Canadian Embassy Letter for visa extension

The Canadian Embassy is now granting letters to help citizens extend their Thai visas due to travel interruptions caused by covid-19 on a case by case basis. You can use this letter now if you arrived after March 1st and can’t wait for the official announcement or if you arrived before March 1st. You won’t need the letter if you arrived after March 1st once the official announcement has been made. Nothing is official until immigration posts the notice. Here is an example of the letter. Hope this post helps fellow Canadians. If you need the letter, contact the embassy by email only and don’t call.

Call them by getting the number and or email from the website. Google is your best friend

You don't need an embassy letter at the moment because of the amnesty, but you might need one if they don't extend the amnesty another month.

You may not need one to get a extension if immigration is able to do what they mentioned in a press conference last week. They stated there will be a 60 day extension that will not require a letter from you embassy.
