I'm flying to the UK shortly, and currently hold a non-immigrant B single-entry visa.

I understand I can pay B1000 for a re-entry permit at the airport, but the information on the thaivisa site refers to Don Muang:

Anyone know where the equivalent is in Suvarnabhumi?

At the entry area of departure immigration queues. You must have photo as no way to obtain there.

The desks are located in the buffer halls immediately before you go through passport control. They are on the air-side of the glass partition so you can't see them before going through security.

I didn't notice one in the Thai business / first class fast-track yesterday

Crossy: Economy all the way, so no worries there

Don't believe so but have never done at airport. Always good to have one or two in briefcase in any case. I used to keep one in wallet when traveling a lot.
