The Ministry of Social Development and Human Security is offering clean accommodation and three meals, free of charge for needy people nationwide under its "We will not leave anyone behind" campaign.

The Covid-19 pandemic continues to spread throughout Bangkok, and places with slum communities are particularly at risk, especially vulnerable groups like children, youth, the elderly, people with disability, and the homeless, the Minister of Social Development and Human Security, Juti Krairerk, said.

“We invite the homeless and the unemployed to stay at our accommodation. We have food, rooms, bathroom, and a team to prevent Covid-19. Contact hotline 1300. There will be rooms for people nationwide," said the minister.

Nice to see some positive steps for a change.

Makes sense to take care of the peasants who do the unpleasant and dirty jobs.  If they died out enmass who would pick through the trash,  who would clean the toilets in the business and banking temples of Bangkok........

Badly needed, ton of guys and girls out there pretty screwed now tourism has come to a halt. Four hots and a cot. Will stop a 1789 solution. Starving guys and gals don't make for a happy situation.

Makes hamnitarian sense to give a helping hand to people who don't have any other resources. Must be hard to imagine for grumpy farang who have nothing better to do but to bitch about Thailand on TV.
