Well, that's exactly what happened, it evolved, possibly in cats or ferrets until it could be transmitted to humans. And it was.

 

And yes, it is very, very, very bad news.

 

But good news, mosquitos are not carriers.

 

However, cats are a real danger.

highly likely via research channel as it is super important in such an outbreak. if few or no symptoms then can study animal to understand why and may help find solution for people.
