Extending my marriage Visa some questions for being updated

Featured Replies

Hi

For government complex building B

Does the k bank open and work as usual in these days?

Also about photocopy and picture services

How is the crowd situation(for last 5 days)?

Do i have to move my stamps to the new passport before the extension ?

And the last question is how long does it take from walking in to walking out with ready documents?

Thanks

I use another bank, but all were open when I was there a couple weeks ago.

At least 2 photo / print / copy services available - can send them docs of your phone with Line at at least one (the one I used)

Less crowded, after the "tourist only" building was set up at Muang Thong Thani.  But if you arrive early, will still be a long line.  Even later, there is a que to get into the building itself (bag-screening and temperature-check), which takes some time.

The stamp-transfer may be done at the same time now.  I expected 2 steps, but was given an "L" ticket straight away, to spite having those documents on top.  No complaint about this later by the IO.

Hard to give a clear time.  Maybe you get seen (que# called) before the lunch-break, but even then, may not get your passport back until after lunch.  I would expect to get there early, and leave by 3 or 4 PM.   Go crack of dawn, might help, or might not.

Bad thing - no place to sit except on planters or the floor in the large atrium until your queue# is close, at which point you can sit in the area near your "zone" ("L" etc).

Note: agents/clients were in and out in 5 mins.  Just a quick pic and "handoff" to the IO between "official" queue numbers.  I could not find an agent to help with a marriage-based, though.  If using an easily-abused type of extension, like Retirement or Edu, no problem - still as welcome as ever by the IOs to abuse the system.

Hi, would you know if is this visa type https://www.immigration.go.th/content/service_24 being handled at Muang Thong Thani?

That 60 day extension to visit your Thai wife or child would be done at Chaeng Wattana.

Only tourist extensions are done at the other office.

I just want to share my experience for this year also

I left my home 6:30 since no traffic i was there(GC B) around 7:30 i left my kid in car with a friend and i went in, i got the queue number 25 which it was pretty same as last year ( the same experience as jackthompson i got just one "L1"for both extension and stamps transfer)

I went down to the bank and waited for open at 8:40 i got my bank letter and i went for some photocopy when i back up i saw number 23 so my wife ran to get my daughter , they called my number i went in the officer ( her face was nice like last year ) she started to proceed my stamps transfer by the time it finished my wife arrived , the other paperworks , picture , some photocopy in downstairs and it was finished about 30 minutes for returning my passport and she asked me to keep the money for one more month till i get the final stamp( same as last year) and finally i walked out around 9:45

Maybe it was my fastest experience

Thanks for everyone that shared their experiences here
