Simummuang Market has taken to Google Maps with information on its grocery trucks network to allow people in Bangkok and surrounding areas to access the service amid the Covid-19 crisis.

Panalee Phataraprasit, assistant managing director of Simummuang Market operator Donmuang Pattana, said farmers and merchants have been affected by the impact of Covid-19 on the economy as the government has instructed people to stay at home in an attempt to curb the spreading virus.

“Simummuang Market has therefore gathered information on more than 800 grocery trucks affiliated to the market, such as routes, service hours, registration numbers, telephone numbers and Line IDs to allow consumers in Bangkok and surrounding areas to contact them for fresh food, vegetables and fruits at reasonable prices,” she said.

“Besides helping farmers and merchants generate income and manage stocks to meet consumer demand, the information also helps consumers to access services and reduce the risk of spreading Covid-19.”

She requested people to visit Google Maps at http://tiny.cc/smmmobiletrucks or the Facebook

page https://www.facebook.com/taladsimummuang/.

“In addition, we are allowing other grocery truck operators to join the network,” she added.
