Optimism continued to climb in Cambodia in its fight against COVID-19 as no new cases were reported for the third consecutive day.

 

Out of the 114 patients who had been tested COVID-19 positive since January 27, only 61 remain in various medical facilities in Phnom Penh, Kep, Kampot, Banteay Meanchey, Kompong Cham, Thbong  Khmum, Battambang, Siem Reap and Koh Kong. Ministry of Health spokesperson, Mrs Or Vandine said that the ministry was cautiously optimistic with the current trend but declined to say whether the curve has been flattened or whether the first wave is over.

 

Mrs Or Vandine, who is also Secretary of State at the ministry says vigilance against the virus must be kept at high levels to prevent complacency which could lead to people dropping social distancing and self hygiene becoming no longer important. “The measures in place to combat the virus must continue and all must contribute towards this by practicing self hygiene, social distancing and minimising people to people contact.”

No, border still shut. E-visas and visas on arrival suspended. There are still NO FLIGHTS from Thailand - all suspended. The only arrivals today (Tuesday 7 April) were from Malaysia (KL), Macau, China, Vietnam (Ho Chi Minh) and South Korea (Seoul).

No to all questions

 

Borders closed and with very few specific exceptions foreigners cannot enter (for that matter neither can some Cambodians from abroad). Also a restriction on Cambodian national leaving to abroad.

 

And most flights cancelled.
