Less alchohol during the Songkran period, with or without water fights will reduce socialising, and if it is only for 10 days, as in some places, not so bad. It's the danger of the ten days becoming another ten days, and then another that is worrying.

If it results in further falls in the infections rates then more power to them.

Let's get this damn virus nailed down so that we can all get back to normal. I did 15 years in Saudi Arabia so I can stand a few weeks without booze.

Does not affect me. A lot of small shops where i live, will sell to me my afternoon beers anyway. Only different will be the transport for the few meters to my home. Have to use instead a plastic bag my old small backpack,  where a six pack of Big Chang can be placed easily.

Get them to use the black plastic bags which nobody knows the contents of ????

And so you should be using your backpack, always. ????

We have plenty in stock, but just how far does "Bangkok" extend?

I've become bored of beer recently, so I'll just use this as an opportunity to give it up for a while, we're all getting fatter now anyway...

Don't blame you, aside from the fat part. Good opportunity to get that cr@p (filtered. really!) Thai beer out of your system. Seeing them boxes of Leo makes me cringe a bit. Now if it were Lao :licklips:

I used to love Leo, but it seems to have changed considerably, for the worse too.

When i was back in the UK last summer I was amazed at the choice, and the flavours! Coming back here was a turning point, beer wise.

Wife informs me Petchabun is following suit.

I have a hangover today so I wont care until its gone.

What used to be a pleasant land is fast morphing into a police state... where will it end I wonder?

Yes they changed the taste when the government put up taxes on alcohol a few years ago..they also sneakily  reduced the  actual beer in the bottle   from 630 to 620 ML  but covered that with a new

sticker on the neck of the bottle.

Crazy really, because every other year the roads are packed and they don't ban the sales of booze.

This year people are advised not to drive home and they ban the sale of booze! ????????????

I ordered a few cases from Tesco shopping online and the delivery date is not for the 14th.

I guess Tesco will cancel my order even though it was placed before this ban

Is that right? Interesting. Sneaky.

I often wonder if it's me that's changed, sometimes maybe it is, sometimes not.

Where have you been?  The military have been effectively running Thailand since 2014! You should be used to it by now!

no no i live here the 6th year, on the main road are 2 big shops with a lot of boxes of beers. They sell also alcohol on special holidays back door for Thais only. The small shop owners can buying also on Buddhist holidays or on election days. Jumping on the motorbike and in between a couple of minutes refill of beer is guaranteed 365 days a year.

So no problem for sure. I will go visit at 5 pm to my favourit shop and will confirm that with him.

They are ramping up the penalties for illegal sales so don't be so sure!

my partner has agreed to let me have 3 boxes during the ban if it means I will 'drink less'

i'm twiddling my thumbs now waiting for her to come back with them
