Penang does not issue multi entry non immigrant visas anymore at last report.

KL may or may not issue - luck of the draw it seems. Some get, some don't but reasons are unclear.

Singapore may still issue if you can provide a bank account proof of 400k or more - best to check with them first as requirements seem to change depending on who reports.

((Note: believe the annoyed smiley was about Penang not providing multi entry visa rather than your post.))

No. Actually you can not extend your stay with 400k in a bank account. That option ended last year for new applicants. The current requirement is 40k per month family income. So if both husband and wife work and total earnings are 40k or more the extension is available.

Could someone please explain the extension process to me. I have lived here for three years and been married for two with one child. I make 50,000K a month with a contract. What do I need and how do I get an extension?

You and your wife visit an immigration office with passport, id card, home register, proof of income (if in Thailand that will be tax receipts but if outside letter from your Embassy), marriage certificate, photos together with clothing hung together and with house number (as proof you live together) and copies of everything. You fill out a TM.7 form (can download and do before visit) and pay 1,900 baht. I suspect they will still want to see a local bank account with a letter confirming current balance from branch manager (about 200 baht fee). This should be done with between 3 and 4 week remaining on your current visa entry. If entry is not non immigrant another step will be involved and a fee of 2,000 baht. You will be given an under review extension of stay for about 30 days and then the full extension of stay (to your last entry date). Same routine each year. The requirement is 40k monthly family income.
