CW - anyone went last couple of days ?

Is it as good as empty ?

I was there this morning. It is not empty, but it is significantly less crowded than in more normal times.

Still opening doors at 08.20?

Sorry, I don't know.

I got there at 08:35 because I didn't want to wait in the "outside" queue system.

OP, there have been reports with terms like "ghost town". One report had pictures. Couldn't believe it was CW. Empty

I do annual extensions retirement. Wish mine was due now!

Went yesterday for Non-O annual extension.

It wasn't empty, but at least half of the normal crowds pre-covid.

My advice, go after lunch break (2pm).

It was almost empty by then. Perhaps 20 people in the L1/L2 section.

Why the hell would anyone go to CW? You do know there's a visa anmesty now until the 30th then they will keep extending it after that.

Pictures on JS100 from this morning looks normal busy.

So many reasons and causes to require some to go to Immigration. We're not all on TVs.

The PM, cabinet, TAT and foreign embassies were assured that there was a comprehensive amnesty. However, senior immigration officials did not want this. They induced the PM to sign off on an order with convoluted wording that allows immigration to claim that extensions frequently needing agent assistance were not covered. It seems they will be allowed to get away with such subterfuge, as there has been little blow back from people put at risk. Immigration retained plausible deniability. The Order was deliberately ambiguous, and they could have given in, saying it covered everyone legally in Thailand as of March 26th, but it appears this will be unnecessary, and their normal income from agent assisted extensions will continue (indeed, possibly even slightly increased).

If you see the picture Richard Barrow posted on Twitter this morning  you will see that CW is anything but quiet.

I saw that too, so I was rather hoping this thread would have someone confirm or refute that experience, as I intend to go next week to do my EoS ahead of schedule, to take advantage of a perceived quiet time.

I will be there on Monday (April 20) for my 1st 1-year non-O extension (marriage).  I'll post a report Monday night or Tuesday.

USNret

Let us know what time the doors open please as well as queue tickets start being handed out

I'm going soon for 1 yr extension.

Good luck!!

I can't remember, do the banks and photocopy shops at CW close for lunch?
