Inbound international mail

Featured Replies

I've been waiting for incoming international mail, a letter sent from California on April 1st.  Taking far longer than I expected (as of April 18), I was gonna post and ask if inbound mail is entering Thailand and if so, how long is it taking these days.

BUT... it arrived today.  So just wanted to post this data point... A letter sent from California (not express, not trackable) took 18 days to get here, or 17 if you subtract time zones. Normal time might have been around 10 days.  With so few inbound flights coming to Thailand, I was afraid the mail was not finding a way into the country, but somehow it made it.

Probably arrived on a cargo flight since cargo flights can still arrive Thailand pretty much as desired; however, almost all passenger flights have been blocked....only special categories of passenger flights arrived in.   I expect US air mail that use to be thrown into the baggage hole of a passenger flight is now being thrown into a cargo flight.

Same for me from Germany. Official letter dated 24 March arrived April 16.

Unusually long but still not by ship.
