Non Imm O/Marriage visa

Featured Replies

For many years I've used Non Imm O visa. Only obtainable in home country (UK). It suited my circumstances; UK tax affairs, UK rented property; UK family.

Current visa expires on 27th May; my original return flight has been cancelled.

Anyway as an 80 year old (in May); it would not now be possible to stay with my daughter. My grandson has had a liver/kidney transplant; so both of us are in the highest category for Corona virus infection.

Having been with my "missus" for 15 years; we thought the marriage visa was our "get out" pass. However my deposit of 400,000 bahts has only been in Thai bank account since 7th April. ??1Can I get the necessary extension. ??2 Is the bank able to take into account previous year's cash movements from UK into Thai Bank.

Any advice would be much appreciated

You can apply for a 60 day extension to visit your wife at immigration. Then near the end of it apply for the one year extension of stay based upon marriage.

Thanks joe; as an aside; the reason I put "missus" is because we're not married yet! At my age marriage seems a bit.....whatever/ but my "missus" likes the idea of being a Mrs after all these years. Strange times; mean strange actions.

So we're now waiting for Amphur office to open to get Thai ID card; then for the Bangkok Embassies to open; to get the various paperwork sorted.

Either way your solution would appear to ease my worries; thanks again.

It'll be interesting to read what is in the Governments package on the 30th April.
