A man jumped to his death from his condominium in eastern Bangkok at 8.30am on Friday (April 24), in what appears to be the latest in a spate of suicides in Thailand during the Covid-19 crisis.

The body of a man aged 40-45 years old was found on the sixth story of the condo building in Ramkhamhaeng district. Police assume that he jumped from the apartment on the 31st story where he lived.

They are checking footage from surveillance cameras in order to wrap up the investigation.

Investigating officers suspect the man was driven to kill himself after suffering stress during the pandemic and lockdown – a pattern seen in a string of suicide cases across the country.
