Temporary restriction on aircraft arrivals to be extended

The Civil Aviation Authority of Thailand (CAAT) will extend a temporary restriction on aircraft arrivals even after the measure expires on April 30.

CAAT director Chula Sukmanop said the authority needs to extend anti-Covid-19 measures as the situation in several countries remains serious.

There is no need to travel to neighbouring countries, where Covid-19 is still spreading, while some countries have no directive to lift their lockdowns, he said.

However, CAAT will let the Public Health Ministry decide on the new direction after lockdown measures are eased or lifted.

Good. Keep the virus out. If we keep visitors out of Thailand for awhile then we just have to deal with the local spread, which is diminishing.

It will cause more pain for the economy, but not as much as if this thing gets extended indefinitely.

And I wouldn't allow any visitor in who hasn't had a test in the last week that shows negative.

The Propaganda has fully worked it seems !

A post full of nonsense but in full compliance with WHO guide lines

The brainwashing is complete !!!

A weird news story. No one is saying the ban HAS been extended.

I do think international flights will continue to be banned after May 1, just odd the director of CAAT is just kind of winging it (no pun intended) on such an important topic. Get it together, make a proper announcement, what is being banned, for how long, etc.

Many Thais, and some foreigners who left to renew or extend their visas, are still trapped in local countries, like to think that efforts are still made to let them return ASAP.

He would have been protected from brainwashing if only he had worn his tin foil hat. Everyone knows that.
