Phalang Pracharat Party unity in doubt after ‘reshuffle’: source

Phalang Pracharat Party unity seems to have been shattered with leader Uttama Savanayana and secretary-general Sontirat Sontijirawong about to be replaced by Deputy Prime Minister Prawit Wongsuwan and Santi Promphat, respectively, according to a party source.

However, Uttama and most of the party executives who have been asked to resign their posts, are refusing to do so, according to a party executive member.

The wholesale changes to the coalition leader’s executive committee would come ahead of an expected Cabinet reshuffle in June. Uttama currently holds the post of finance minister while Sontirat is energy minister.

“A mission to change the leader is plausible since Prawit himself mentioned that Uttama was asked to resign and that he [Prawit] would take the position,” the source said.

Prawit’s right-hand man, identified only as “Big A”, is lobbying half of the executive members to resign, which will eventually lead to the resignation of Uttama, said the source.

A major meeting scheduled for May will see the election of new executive members, the source added.

Prawit is expected to be named the new interior minister, while Santi Promphat is set to take the finance minister’s post. Nataphol Teepsuwan should be the new energy minister and Anucha Nakasai will be the new education minister, the executive member added.

'Watch' this space!!!????????????????????????????????

Please let them implode into a billion tiny pieces. Oh, how we can wish.

As long as they have the support of the other parties and keep handing out the goodies this is just in party tantrums.

Well just who's turn is it at the trough? ????

Looks to be an additional strengthening hold by military factions. Just because retired (superficially) they are still Generals and still yielding tremendous power. If chaos ensues then a new Coup or National Security measure taking supreme power is not out of the question. They just took over DM and SVB airport with Generals and with lots of other two step goodies in the pike. Wonder where the convicted heroin dealer will be upgraded to?

That is why the emergency decree will be extended. Gives them more time under the cover of Covid to strengthen their position. Any resistance will be quashed under the lock down banner....

It is surely looking that way. Changing of the common peanut gallery fooled by false promises election guard to the Military again.

The regime still tightening the grip of dictatorship.

Which position involves hosing down Prayuths colon. Unenviable job but they seem to enjoy it.

That's because they got a scare from FFP during the elections, and realize that they will never stay in power unless they clamp down on any competition.

Covid couldn't have appeared at a more opportune moment for them.... They won't make the same mistake again, no more free and fair elections for Thailand !!

But maybe Corvid will be their downfall.... Thais will remember the non-payment to thousands struggling for a meal, or pay the bills.

The clamp-down on freedom which they hate, no beer, no bars, night curfew etc etc

Maybe the next election will see a huge shift in peoples loyalty.

I agree it will be manipulated or even rigged, but it can't fend-off a landslide.

I'm sure the government are starting to realise this, hence the more military line up.. Ready for another power grab.

From the photo, it looks as if at least 4 of the persons are of Chinese ancestry - say no more!!!!

How will that work.. military stealing from the military?

Easy, they disguise themselves as a, democratically elected, civilian government. Then steal from themselves indeed.......

Such a relief for them, as they don't need to pretend any more and can get on with the job of boot camping the entire nation.
