The Commerce Ministry is collaborating with top e-commerce platforms like Thailandpostsmart, Shopee, Lazada, JD Central, Cloudmall among others to sell agricultural products and fresh fruit as part of its “Thailand Fruits Golden Months: Thai Help Thai” campaign, Commerce Minister Jurin Laksanawisit announced on Thursday (April 30).

This move comes after exports of Thai fruit dropped significantly due to the Covid-19 outbreak.

The Department of Internal Trade has also given fruit farmers 200,000 boxes for online sales.

Jurin said the Department of International Trade Promotion has also been instructed to adjust to the crisis and find a way of promoting Thai products overseas via international e-commerce platforms like Amazon, China’s T-Mall, Cambodia’s Thai Treasury and India’s Big Basket.

Online promotions have already been held for Thai products via Singapore’s online grocery store Redmart from April 15 to 28, and via Japan’s AEON online retailer from April 24 to 26.
