Hello,

I' am married to a thai lady and we are running a bar and a small bungalow resort.

I need a workpermit we visited a few laywers but every one has a different story solution and price(from 25000 to 65000 baht)

1 l,aywer says start a company with 7 share holders and 2 milion baht registered capital and an other one says a partnership is okay when you're married and you can work in both places.

They say the montly tax is 2000 baht.

who is right can anyone tell me or give me an other option.

I'm not a lawyer and hopefully one will respond soon.

One thing I"m sure of though....

If you're legally married to a Thai, your company only needs 1 Million registered capital instead of 2 Million... for you be be able to obtain a work permit.

Also, don't believe baloney Thai lawyers who say that you'll need to hire 4 employees for you to obtain a work permit.

That's simply not true. However, without 4 Thai employees, you won't be able to "extend" your business visa at the local immigration office. Instead, you'd have to renew it every 3 months at Thai embassy abroad (ex. Singapore). Still much cheaper than hiring 4 people.

You don’t say what legal form (sole proprietorship, partnership, private limited company, etc.) your resort has, nor where it is located. If it is within an area covered by Sunbelt, they would probably be able to give you correct advice and quote you for their services.
