"Do you personally believe White people smell like wet dog sometimes?"
I perform a lot of physical labor around our place, and am often repairing equipment or vehicles. I always make sure I am presentable when I go on errands to buy parts or supplies. Back home nobody cares all that much, people just think to themselves, "looks like he's been working on something", but people here take care in their appearance. One day I ran to buy fuel without cleaning up and changing clothes, and three Thai school girls were just parking their motorbike at the pumps. When the driver saw me she wrinkled her nose and said in Thai, "he's so dirty!" As far as smelling like something goes, I have never heard of the locals saying foreigners smell like wet dogs, I have heard it said that they smell like butter...and that certainly wasn't meant as a compliment. In their own language and customs calling someone a dog, or dog face is extremely offensive. -

Tragedy as Deaf Woman Fatally Struck by Train in Trang
A 65-year-old deaf woman, Ms. Bai, tragically lost her life after being struck by a train while crossing the tracks in Kantang District, Trang Province. The accident occurred at approximately 12:30 on October 27, when Ms. Bai attempted to cross the railway tracks under a bridge in Moo 5, Bang Pao Subdistrict, near a spot she frequently visited to assist her relatives in their local business. According to the preliminary investigation conducted by Police Lieutenant Chaisit Maneekarn of the Kantang Police Station, Ms. Bai had crossed the tracks to use a restroom on the opposite side. As she was crossing, the Bangkok Apiwat-Kantang train was approaching the Kantang station. Despite the efforts of nearby residents and family members, who tried to alert her to the oncoming train, Ms. Bai could not be stopped in time. The impact threw her approximately 20 metres, resulting in fatal injuries, including severe head trauma and multiple fractures. The incident has left the local community mourning, with many neighbours expressing deep sadness over her passing. Local officials, including village chief Mr. Kathayut Aphimathatham and rescue personnel from the Kusonsathan Foundation, were present at the scene, after the collision. Man Detained After 13-Hour Search Under MRT Tracks An all-night search concluded when Thai authorities detained a man who caused disruption at the Tha Phra MRT station. The suspect was discovered hiding under the tracks after a 13-hour manhunt and was eventually found near a drainage canal.
