"We love everyone - Thais and foreigners alike" says immigration chief as he announces 'Love&Share' scheme

Immigration Bureau chief Lt-Gen Sompong Chingduang announced that immigration was joining the growing number of organisations that are setting up sharing cabinets amid the coronavirus pandemic. 

 

The idea is that people who have plenty leave food items for the needy in the cabinets.

 

Sompong said that his Love&Share cabinets had been set up outside immigration offices nationwide. 

 

An immigration officer was in duty to make sure that social distancing was in place. 

 

But the chief pointed out at a briefing at IB HQ yesterday that he was concerned about videos circulating that showed people taking all the  items and then reselling them.

 

"Take what you need, don't take for others," said the chief known as Big Oud.

 

"We are pleased to help everyone whether Thai or foreigner, we love you all.

 

"We are all in this together and we will beat it together", he added.

Wow, now I can actually believe in Rainbows and unicorns also. Thank you Immigration, I thought for a minute they actually loved us foreigners for coming here to visit and stay, but wow its all about a scheme for food donation cabinets.  Got to work on how I perceive OP titles I guess....

Lol the government wants to use the PR from this initiative why don't they think of something? Hopeful that backfires.
Let the people provide the food and they will provide the Cabinets and Cameras because they can collect commission.
Even the PM is getting in on the action.

this is a Huge lie, Thais complain too much about foreigners. According to this article, it is just try to attract tourists to come to Thailand to spend their money.

If they didn't insist on taking an hour for each foreigner, there wouldn't be any lines.

The lines are deliberate as they are trying to force you down the agent route.

You ever seen them process an application from an agent ..... stamp stamp, done.
