I don’t understand China basically allowed this to happen to the world.

Why Taiwan could control it? Why South Korea could control it? Why Vietnam could cntrol it and why many more countries could control it or keep the numbers low? India, a country with teeming slums and poverty was able to keep the numbers low (may be 90K now but low death). Every country should analyze their own situations, instead of blaming China out of frustration of not able to control it. Western countries (specially USA) must first ackknowledge that arrogancies of their population and their leaders and its effects on desease spread, death, and destruction. Every day I see samples of these arrogant people in Pattaya. May be now they have come in line becuase they realized that they would be arrested and scammed 100K BHT.

Not a bad idea. Thailand should seriously open licensed Gambling venues where Thais are not allowed. Chinese loves gambling. Look at Macau, the world richest country due to the gambling dollars flowing in from China mainly.

Yes indeed, that is exactly what I had in mind. Once borders and international flights are operational again - an immediate guaranteed flow of vast amounts of cash into the "coffers"! Like here in Cambodia at Sihanoukville and Poi-Pet.

I am pretty certain that pigs are upset the Swine Flu is named for them. Same thing with the Bird Flu, Birds are so mad about it they poop all over the place.

If the Chinese don't want a global pandemic named after them, maybe they should not eat bats and other wild animals. A little cleanliness would also go a long way.

Yes, the Americans should stop eating bats and raccoons:

On The Road In Florida: Hard Times, Politics And Smoked Bat

Raccoon: It's what's for dinner

Not sure how you farangs reason things. Why would it be easier to catch a virus from a cooked bat rather than playing with them, like they do down in Australia?

Ok So I’m guessing maybe China shared the information with Thailand and probably no one else than.

They just need to reopen 100% as most northern cities already have. Where I live only a handful of places have actually closed.
