The Transport Ministry has nominated 15 candidates for administrator, of the rehabilitation plan for ailing Thai Airways International, to Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha for consideration.

Transport Minister Saksayam Chidchob said today that, once the list is approved by the Prime Minister, tentatively this week, it will be submitted to the Central Bankruptcy Court for consideration.

The appointment of the administrators comes after THAI submits a bankruptcy petition to the Central Bankruptcy Court.

Again the government didn't have the ba##s to make the tough decision and put Thai under full bankruptcy. As most of the airline's debt is with the Finance Ministry and entities closely linked to the government (Army and Police savings co-ops, etc), any so-called "rehabilitation plan" put up by these hand picked administrators will sail through and we will end up with "same, same". Expect to see aircraft being impounded overseas and held as security for foreign debtors as this dinosaur wallows towards extinction.

And than what? privatized Thai? god forbid foreign ownership? Thai is the pride and joy of the Thai people and it's government and to see it going to the wall would be a great embarrassment and loss of face to all, so no, Thai will be rehabilitated and will continue to operate with what more or less the same model and mentality as before and the people will continue to pay for it...

Well they might as well appoint me as an administrator, i know absolutely nothing about how to run an airline.

That said neither will anyone of the administrators appointed.

It will be jobs for the boys, nothing else.

Correction. Thai used to be the pride and joy of the Thai people and its government. Thailand was also once one of the world's leading travel destinations. Both are now national embarrassments, sucked dry by the greed, corruption and power struggles of those at the "top". I love this country because of the beautiful people at the bottom of its feeding chain, and can only hope that it can return to its former glory without more of their blood on the streets.

I wonder if this is going to be a real appointment based on knowledge and experience, or another 'job for the boys' appointment by this whole establishment.

The Transport Ministry has nominated 15 candidates for administrator

So that will be

General ***

Flight Lieutenant ***

Admiral ***

…and so on etc etc

I really love this. Time to kill it off. Praying for a complete THAI failure.

It's the only way to get them to be better and better serve the Thai people.

Should have pulled the plug on the life support machine... comatose for so long they should have done the decent thing and let it go!

Another 'connected' 15 Numpty's who know no better than those that have gone before them; total waste of time and yet more Billions of Baht.    All the shame falls on Prayut and his Gangsters for not being the 'Real Men' needed to kill off this National Embarrassment.

And the selected candidates were appointed after interviews and brown envelopes received at Thonglor Krystal Club.
