So, they want to attract social media influencers. Does that mean they will stop going after such people for working in Thailand without a work permit? Some farangs have been threatened with deportation if they don't demonetize their online videoblog channels.

The report implies that they are going to use Chinese Social Media Influencers to promote Thailand as a travel destination.

And where did you get the nonsense about them threatening farangs with deportation for running Youtube channels?

TAT invite them over and over. (Whatever your backpacker friends told you)

In 10-15 years you cannot label the Chinese as tourists anymore in Thailand. They will be "Pisao and Pichai" - Big Sister and Big Brother.

I know the Chinese is a big market, and that 1 in 4 Intl. tourist is from China - and polls will probably say that this will rise over the next years.

But that's not because there will be more Chinese tourists arriving, but the other 3 in 4 tourists (European, US, Australia) will not show up here anymore. Nobody wants to see Maya Bay Madness or Seafood Buffet Slaughter.

Buffets will whither

Well the 'Commies' in nearby Viet Nam with a far larger population than Thailand and a common border with China has managed the COVID-19 pandemic pretty well - zero deaths.

Going all

Yes of course, quite relevant point.

The fact that a large proportion ends up in the pockets of the rich is rampant capitalism at work and unfortunately 'normal' for Thailand.

But it's still true that several million Thai's get salaries from the Chinese tourism, albeit low, but it does keep food on their table.

And, there is no better example on display than right now as to how important those millions of tourism jobs are, even if the majority might be low-paying.  Low pay is better than no pay.

It's quite stupid to rely on China.

As everybody sees now, China is responsible for so much problems in the world.

Human right issues.

Counterfeit.

Intellectual property stealing.

CCP virus.

Spy on people as same as the "Srasi"

And so on.

They don't have anyone else other than China...
