Thailand’s Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha today (Thursday) assured members of parliament that the Government has put in place clear guidelines, in accordance with budgeting law, on how to make use of a one trillion baht loan to help all those affected by the COVID-19 pandemic, particularly small and size medium enterprises.

Addressing concerns, raised by opposition MPs during the second day of debate over decrees to allow the Government to borrow one trillion baht, that the loan may be misused for personal gain, the Prime Minister said that the money would be used properly and transparently, especially pertaining to the SMEs, which must be prevented from going under to avoid mass unemployment.

Another of the decrees being debated is to provide soft loans to cushion the impacts on SMEs and startups, said the Prime Minister.

No, I don't believe him, or trust many of a rigged parliament.

Good to be a PM in Thailand whereby you can just willy nilly decide to borrow 1 trillion baht with a promise of "transparency spending" ( which means i'll give it to whom i wish) and let the next governments figure out how to repay the loan...

He chose to wear a mask and shiny suit while asking for trust over large amounts of money.  What terrible optics.

Now there's a thought ... personal gain for who though?

It's never been a problem in the past

These clear guidelines will be strictly enforced....once the 35% allocated to the general and his friends has been deducted and distributed according to standard operating procedures.

yes, yes, proper, clear, transparent, guidelines, blueprints, roadmaps...

yet, this is the hub of misunderstandings, run by a cabinet of shady characters, now with a trillion reasons more not to be trusted.

The Moo airways fleet are all flying tonight...

Transparent....... like mud!!

Seemingly rubbing his hands together and grinning from ear to ear beneath that mask .

one for you, 5 for me, one for you, 3 for me

The Thai tax payer is herewith advised, that the country's debts will increase by yet another trillion Baht as the government approved the government's application for loose change.

I mean, even in real money we're talking about USD 30'000'000'000. Maybe time again to write 20 letters?

:cheesy::cheesy::cheesy::cheesy::cheesy::happy:

The war cry should be to the government. Line up boys its pay day. I would say the Pm has other plans for himself in about a years time and you can bet it wont include the Thai people

Well as the politicians, and their rich "sponsors",  in every country learned long ago, there's no trough like the government trough to get your snout into. Its deep and endless.
