Pattaya beaches to re-open on 1 June

Beaches in Pattaya will re-open to the public on 1 June,  Mayor Sonthaya Khunpluem said on Friday.

Nine beaches in the city will re-open including Pattaya, Jomtien, Pratumnak, Cozy, Wong Amat, Krating Rai, Yin Yom, Naklua and Bali Hai Pier.

The beaches had previously been closed off to the public in order to help prevent the spread of COVID-19.

From 1 June, visitors to the beach must practice social distancing, while beach chairs must be kept apart by a distance of 1 to 1.5 metres.

I actually plan on going the first day and swimming.

The water looks clean, no garbage on the beach, you can smell the salt water as you walk the promenade not

the sewer smell, and no boats have been active.  Seems like a a great opportunity.

No surprise here, the just announced phase 3 allows for the reopening of zoos...

And guys, sorry...beach open but bars still closed...until next time...

Pattaya is one big zoo, is it not?

Sounds like June will be the month to be ahead of the masses from China?

Good luck with that. Covid will be the least of your worries :shock1:

Good luck with that! Would require BIB to get out of chairs, out of aircon offices and actually confront some real live people  & probably outnumbered it they dare.

Great

Any updates about Ko Larn and Ko Si Chang?

They were stolen during the lockdown!

Great news! Now all I need is the buses running so I can get there.

The beach vendors will be infesting the beaches though. The covid19 pandemic won't be the problem it will be the "pesty" beach vendors trying to make back all their lost income.

No problem, the bus to Sriracha Tiger Zoo is operating.

From there it's just a short walk to the beach...

I hope the life guards are ready.

And closed again on the 2nd after the beaches become packed with people, deck chairs and vendors not observing social distancing rules!

Is Dongtan included in any of the beaches listed?

All beaches Mac

My friend is going to rush down to the beach on opening day ad he says, it will be the cleanest

that it will be ever. He also said it may only be a day or 2 before the 2nd wave hits and

all will be closed again. Good Luck Pattaya, especially Jomtien Beach as well.

Hope the water stays clean for a few days for all of you.
