Came across something that could help understand (or maybe not) the Chinese way of thinking

But a civilizational gap exists nonetheless, between the U.S. and China, the differences go far beyond tastes and customs and enter the realm of values, morality and even something as basic as the nature of truth.

Same old story. Still not true. 

There was much talk in the 80s and 90s about "Those subservient Asians" (Economist, running a pic of aggressive Korean demonstrators) not suitable for democracy. 

The article avoids the words "Hong Kong" and "Taiwan" - two living counter-examples.

Trump is not Chinese, so whatever they think about him does not change China.

 

A country which has to censor any mentioning of historic events such as the Tiananmen Square incident, and forbids even historic researchers at universities to have or read historic books, is anti-truth.
