The French Embassy in Cambodia is facilitating its citizens and those from UK, Norway, Iceland, Switzerland, Liechtenstein and opportunity to fly to Europe via Frankfurt, Germany. The flights were originally scheduled to arrive in Amsterdam. In a notice posted on the embassy’s website, it states that it has received a demand for up to 305 seats for this route which is expected to be from Phnom Penh and or Vientiane, Lao PDR.

The demand is enough to proceed to the next step and organize the flight. However, it is lower than that initially expected to execute Option A (2 flights with 180 seats on a smaller aircraft with fuel stops). Because the results are very close, no option alone could fill an entire aircraft without changing the price drastically.

“Thus, the embassy has closed a deal with an operator so that we can offer a middle ground solution – the benefits of Option B (non-stop flight in a long-haul aircraft) with a price close to Option A. To manage a better deal, we needed to change the final destination to Frankfurt, because it’s the main base of the aircraft. Also, the operator chosen has recently operated flights to Laos and Cambodia and have experience with the flight permits process.
