Marriage 90 day stay + 60 day extension

Featured Replies

I've been in Thailand over 5 years, but never for more than 90 days at a time. I am getting ready to do a 60 day extension, which will make this stay 150 days.

Do I need to do a 90 day report too? Or is that handled at the time I apply for the extension?

You can stay until July 31st without doing anything at immigration under the amnesty that started on April 7th.

You could wait and apply for the 60 day extension shortly before the July 31st.

Ninety day reports are not required under the amnesty as well.

Yes, I understand that. But my current permission to stay expires June 14. There is confusion if we can apply for the 60 day extension after amnesty ends.

I deposited 400k into my Thai bank account on May 4. 2 months seasoning puts me at July 4. Add in the 30 days to process a 1 year marriage extension application and I am past July 31.

So... I've decided to just do a 60 day extension. That pushes my permission to stay out to Aug 13.

But I have no idea if I need to do a 90 day report. I've never stayed in Thailand more than 90 days at a time in the past.

To make it all simpler... and for someone else searching in the future:

If on a 90 day permission to stay, and you extend it by 30-60 days, is a 90 day report required?

A 90 day report would not be required since the first extension application is considered equal to doing a 90 day report. Your first 90 day report will be due 90 days from the day you apply for the extension.
