He made the remark in reply to a news report that cutting boards for imported salmon in Beijing’s Xinfadi Market detected the virus, causing worries that the fish could be contaminated with the virus.

 He knows Jack.

How did the boards get the Virus .He can't say for 100% sure that the salmon or any other Fish or Animal that get cut on the boards Does Not Transmit the Virus.

  • Are they accusing the Chinese of lying? Who'd have thought?

  • "We have not studied the case in detail, but we believe salmon cannot be contaminated with the Covid-19 virus,” he said. “We believe that the sellers contracted Covid-19 from their cutting boards.”

  • Thank you, Dr. Thanarak Palipak! A voice of reason amidst a sea of insanity. (He may get a transfer, soon, though...or worse.)

have to wonder if china will now get shirty with Thailand like they did with Australia, this is accusing them of lying which they have done knowingly but saying it is not possible is a loss of face for them as well

Only a fool would believe the virus came from Norwegian salmon.

It's obvious Beijing wants to blame it on foreigners again, they don't want to admit it was from a chinese source.

Back to China I wonder which animal was responsible?

Rumors that the Sahara penguins, a very rare species are responsible. But may be just rumors?

Apparently, it's not Covid 19, according to a post on here. What virus is it then, a new one that we should all be worried about?

It's a good job nobody ever touches or coughs on cutting boards, otherwise the test results may be meaningless.

And anyway, salmon only presents a risk of respiratory disease if you inhale it.

A stark warning to the salmon sniffers among us.

They're no good. In all that heat, the wrapper sticks to the melted chocolate.

no, it is just poisoned with pesticides !

people are crazy to eat the most dangerous fish in the world, that even people raising them in europe do not eat anymore.

But i guess that most people don't know ? maybe because they do not have internet right ? or maybe because they prefer to watch stupid cats videos instead of learning anything useful for their life...

I think the Salmon was really a Red Herring - to help with fish species identification, this is from the Oxford Dictionary ......

What You Eating.?. My Mrs, The Salmon in case it gets contaminated, Sometimes i just give up.

The Guardian -- published on Wed 17 Jun 2020 05.53 BST

Some officials have suggested the virus may have been brought in from outside the country after local media reported traces of the virus had been found on chopping boards used for imported salmon sold at the Xinfadi market.

At the briefing on Tuesday evening, health officials said the outbreak appeared to be linked to human-to-human transmission and contaminated goods. Shi Guoqing, a deputy director at China’s centre for disease control and prevention, said on Tuesday evening there was no evidence that salmon was the host or intermediate host of the outbreak.
