Bang Lamung police are hunting a 41 year old construction worker known as "Ai Oo" who slashed the neck and body of a 68 year old shopkeeper leaving her in a pool of blood at her convenience store in Sukhumvit Road, Soi 71.

The attacker stole 4,000 baht then headed off into the rain on a bicycle leaving Wirat for dead.

She has grievous injuries and is in Bangkok Pattaya hospital.

CCTV soon led the police to know the identity of the man who comes from Saraburi.

A construction workers' camp was surrounded last night but the suspect was not there.

He is believed to be hiding out in the vicinity, reported Daily News.

More as we hear of this.

Desperate times, we will read more like this, unfortunately.

Pure evil.

Until countries are opened back up
and all this nonsense has stopped
such behavior is to be expected
as people get more and more desperate

Not excusing the man in any way
this is a horrid crime
and hopefully the woman recovers fully

But these are very desperate times for many people
while "leaders" sit in their fancy homes and simply order anything they want to be delivered,
most people do not have that luxury.

Whilst I agree with this was it really necessary for this scumbag to slash the neck of a 68 year old woman to access 4K baht. Surely he could have just taken it anyway without resorting to such extreme violence?

Most likely a "side effect" of the Chinese Virus driving people mad, when becoming desperate.

Stealing I can understand.....But this kind of violence is evidence of a sick mind......

But you are correct the longer this Covid madness drags out the crime rate will keep going up and up.......People who have nothing have got nothing to lose...

It should be more convenient and helpfull for the hunt to illustrate the article

with the photo of the wanted man (With a phone number to call if you see him)

rather than the photo of a random policeman

He presumably left her for dead on the assumption she could not identify him. He probably also assumed the CCTV was not working.

Top him, finished over no grief.

Redwood1 i disagree when you say that people with nothing commit these crimes, he had his freedom which i hope he soon loses.

He could have had a long record of this sort of behavior. It could've been for drug money. The guy might have a mental illness. There are lots of reasons why people resort to this type of thing but that doesn't stop the clowns from coming out and blaming it on pandemic safe guards

'

'He probably also assumed the CCTV was not working.'  A safe assumption in Pattaya where cameras only work dependent on how busy the Plod are.

When the donations dry up, and with no government assistance, many will start "to take."

They will find him, usually they are in the bushes behind their mother's house.

If someone tries to steal from you, do not fight back.  It will end in a blood bath.
